The company provided a preorder page in the Google Play Store, allowing users to register for installation once the app is ready.
Two months after launching for iOS, ChatGPT is available to “pre– order“ for Android users who want to take the ubiquitous chatbot on the go.
If it’s everywhere as common as the iPhone edition, expect to see some great numbers over the next few weeks.
Of course any mobile user can access ChatGPT or another OpenAI tools via the internet interface, but the better experience of a committed app has proven
extremely powerful, to put it gently. phone users downloaded it half a million times in the first week, impressing all until Threads came along and blew it out of the ocean.
The ChatGPT apps on Android looks to be more or less similar to the iOS one in features, meaning it gets most if not all of the web– based edition’s functions. You should be able to tune your conversations and choices across devices, very— but if you’re ipad at home and Android at function, no worries.
Of course it won’t be completely identical, since the two mobile operating systems differ in many ways. For example, the June additions of Siri and Shortcuts to the application on iOS evidently won’t be making the change, but it’s probable Android users may get something similar.
On Twitter, OpenAI said that the Android software may be “rolling out to customers next month“, presumably in the U. S. first. No plans were mentioned for other places, but it’s likely that they’ll follow after a few weeks or months. It was in a twelve more countries one month after its initial release.
